Rainwater Tanks

In the area where I live, we've been in drought conditions for about twelve years now, and watering gardens isn't really an option.   Rainwater harvesting is one answer.

You can also harvest your gray water from your kitchen and bathroom, but be careful with this, as you don't want too much soap to get into your garden.   Make sure you use biodegradable soaps.

Tanks can be obtained in many sizes and types to suit the area you have available.   I've chosen to place mine next to the garden shed, where a couple of trees are growing, which will hide and shade them.   This area was difficult to grow anything in, due to a neighbour's tree taking all the nutrients out of the ground, so the tank was an ideal solution.
